Other Things Aaron Does with Cars

Watching Real Cars
Car Papers: Finding Them

Watching Real Cars (and Trucks)

Aaron loves to watch real cars.  Aaron also watches
trucks -- especially ones that tow or carry cars.

When Aaron sees a car he likes, he says, "I want one like that, model, exactly like it.  Put it on my list!"

Aaron's list has lots of cars on it.

Aaron loves to watch cars wait for trains to pass, and then go "bumpity bump" across the tracks.
He also loves to watch cars and trains from the pedestrian bridge near our home.

Aaron loves to watch for tow trucks...

and for auto carriers.

Finding Car Papers

To Aaron, "car papers" are any papers
with pictures of cars.

Aaron claims all car pictures that enter our home, especially the ads in our local paper. He also looks for free "magazines" filled with car ads. Aaron and his Dad search the Web for pictures of cars and print the best ones.

Using Car Papers

Most of the time, Aaron just cuts out his car pictures and puts them in a box.
But some days, Aaron likes to paint his car papers with water colors...
...or arrange his cutouts into patterns, so Mom or Dad can tape them together...
...or glue them to cardboard to make "car trading cards."

Car Birthday Party

Aaron had his 4th birthday party at his house.
He invited friends from daycare.  It was the first
time he had a birthday party with his friends.

Aaron wanted the theme to be, "Cars, trucks,
and buses."  (Now that he's 4 years old, Aaron
likes almost everything with wheels.  But not
airplanes, because, "They don't have enough
wheels.")

For most of the party, Aaron
and his friends just played
with cars.  They made a
huge mess, but they had lots of fun!
Mom and Dad planned lots of games, but we only had time to play one of them -- Car Bingo.  Go here to learn more.

We ordered pizza for lunch. The birthday cake had trucks instead of cars, but Aaron didn't seem to mind. Of course, almost all of Aaron's presents had wheels!

We got ideas for Aaron's party from the following
Websites.

We couldn't find any sites with a "Cars, Trucks, and
Buses" theme, so we borrowed ideas from sites for
other party themes, including:

Hot Rod Party  < http://www.amazingmoms.com/htm/partyHotRod.htm >
Race Car Parties < http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/racing.html >
Construction Parties < http://www.amazingmoms.com/htm/party_constr.htm > and < http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/construction_party.html >

We found lots of ideas for party games at this site:
However, the kids were so happy playing with Aaron's
toys that we didn't get a chance to play many games.
