An all-day cicada celebration, with a cicada-themed coloring contest, a big balloon cicada, the Cicada Mobile, and a cicada origami demonstration.

"Celebrate Cicadas" and "Cicada Shakers" at the Morton Arboretum
"Celebrate Cicadas" with a drop-in activity where you make special party hats while learning about the life  cycle of cicadas.  From 11 a.m.  to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in June.
"Cicada Shakers" helps you learn about cicadas while you make a cicada sound shaker to take home in this drop-in activity.  From 1-4 p.m. weekends in June.

"Cicada Symphonies" at the Chicago Botanic Garden
Discover how cicadas make their distinctive sound, pin and label your own specimen, and play a cicada instrument to mimic their songs. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in June except June 16-17.

"Periodical Cicadas: The Plague and the Puzzle"
