EXAMPLE ONLY WHAT:
Nature
and Science Club is a PTO-sponsored after-school activity for Irving
School students interested in nature, science, and technology.
The club is very informal.
We emphasize hanging out with friends while engaging with
hands-on activities like launching rockets, playing with magic,
meeting live animals, building electronic devices, and trading at the
Irving School Nature Swap. Weekly
themes this spring include:
WHEN: 5th grade Nature and Science Club will continue to meet on Wednesdays this spring. The spring session will meet on the following dates: XXXXXXXX. TIME: Meetings begin right after school and continue to run a bit longer than they did last fall: 2 to 3:15 p.m. WHERE: Irving School’s Community Room, room 102 (across from the Mini-Gym). COST: There is a $15 fee for the spring session (cash or check payable to the
Irving PTO). Financial
assistance is available for students eligible for the free or reduced
fee lunch program LEADER:
Eric Gyllenhaal is a parent of Irving students
(Ethan and Aaron). He has
degrees in natural resources, geology and paleontology.
He has worked at the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis and
the Field Museum in Chicago. He
is currently a part-time stay-at-home Dad and works part-time as a
museum consultant.
PARENT
HELPERS:
Adult volunteers can help with meeting set up, supervision, and
clean up. Families can
also volunteer to send snacks to meetings. QUESTIONS:
